Youth Circus, 60

The Wenatchee Youth Circus is unique. To have such an organization, dedicated to youth and youthful spirit, touring for a year or two would be difficult for some communities to support. To have sustained success for 60 years is beyond remarkable. It is historic.

Go see for yourself. The Youth Circus performs Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at Walla Walla Point Park, with all the spine-tingling thrills we’ve come to expect. After the show, head to the Wenatchee Valley Museum and Cultural Center to see the exhibit highlighting 60 years of the Youth Circus. There are enough photos and memorabilia to bring home the fact that the Youth Circus is now serving its third generation, and the experience of performing is shared by people young today, or well into their 60s. Circus founder Paul Pugh, aka Guppo, did this. It is a lifetime achievement well worth the price of admission.

This is the opinion of The Wenatchee World and its Editorial Board: Publisher Rufus Woods, Editor Cal FitzSimmons and Editorial Page Editor Tracy Warner.
