Walk to help fight juvenile diabetes

LEAVENWORTH — The Leavenworth Lions Club is sponsoring a three-mile walk to raise money for children with juvenile diabetes. The walk starts at 10 a.m. Saturday at Lions Club Park in Leavenworth.

The gentle walk will continue through downtown Leavenworth, Blackbird Island and Enchantment Park before concluding back at Lions Park.

Walkers can register in advance or the day of the event. Cost is $10 per walker. Refreshments will be served and there will be prize drawings. All registered walkers will also receive a Lions Strider pin.

Proceeds will help send a child to a juvenile diabetes camp, as well as go toward diabetes research.
