Pull up a chair for Harvest Fest contest

WENATCHEE — The Visual Arts Network is looking for a few funky chairs, and not just for sitting, for its “Chairs Gone Wild!” contest at the Wenatchee Taste of Harvest Festival. Cash prizes up to $100 will be rewarded for the most outrageous, best harvest theme and people’s choice chairs.

Any old chair can be dressed up for the show, from thrift-store throwaways to chairs made out of found and recycled materials — skis, wine corks or apple bins, for example. An antique power wheelchair decorated by artist Bob LaFollette is on display at Gallery 4 South.

The chairs must be delivered to Gallery 4 South by 9 a.m. Sept. 15, the day of the festival. VAN also requires a $10 entry fee. Call 470-7714 for more information.
