Innovation Showcase has its own innovation for 2012

Blog: Everyday Business

This year, the NCW Innovation Showcase will shift gears — literally — as the popular vendor show transforms into a van-bus tour of Quincy’s server farms, food factories and shipping facilities.

The showcase, sponsored annually by the Greater Wenatchee Area Technology Alliance, will be held from noon to 7 p.m. Oct. 9. On the tour? Data centers (including Yahoo), food processors and the Intermodal Terminal, home of the cross-country Cold Train that transports our fruit and produce (and other stuff) to Chicago, Georgia and Florida.

The Showcase will end at Beaumont Cellars, where tour participants can wash away the dust with a glass of chilled Ancient Lakes 2011 Chardonnay or other wines.

The tour is free and transportation will be provided. But reserve a spot soon because space will be limited. RSVP by Sept. 30 to 661-9000 or gwata.org.
