Sun Mountain Lodge, perched on a ridgetop near Winthrop, recently snagged a Certificate of Excellence from TripAdvisor, one of the world’s biggest travel websites and always a fun place to browse.

TripAdvisor only gives out the award to hotels or attractions that consistently earn glowing reviews. Of the zillions of hotels rated on the site, only about 10 percent get the certificate.

Of course, Sun Mountain is one snazzy joint — boasting the state’s only AAA Four Diamond rating for lodging and dining, a 5,000-bottle wine cellar and stunning views from almost every room.
