Not sure if they are punk enough, but you might be interested in WUSSY, coming to Caffe Mela Wed. June 13th. First West Coast tour and it starts in Wenatchee. http://wussy.bandcamp.com/album/funeral-dress

Here we go again. It's the Iron Butterfly argument one more time. So help me, if the radio ads use original recordings to promote the show, I'm gonna go ballistic. On the other hand, America, which is double billed with the "Lovin' Spoonful" is the real deal.

Are you saying it will be The Loving Spoonful but without John Sebastian?

From what I can find from various web sites, it looks like the original bassists Steve Boone and original drummer Joe Butler are still with the band and possibly Jerry Yester, who replaced Zak Yanovsky in 1967 is still with the band as well. John Sebastian is not with the band.

Correct. John goes out every so often with the J Band, although after the death of Fritz Richmond a number of years ago, that project is pretty much done. He has a small northeastern tour this summer. Bands in name only are a big problem on the casino circuit, and I plan to grumble about this in a month or so.

Very cool! I'm glad I discovered this, it's now bookmarked. July and August are loaded with sweet punk bands coming through Washington. I'd love to see the following especially: Nektomantix, Down by Law, The Casualties, The Gaslight Anthem, The spits, Screeching Weasel, The Queers, The Pietasters, Strung Out, Bouncing Souls, The Menzingers, Teenage Bottlerocket, The Dopamines, Elway, The Taxpayers, Angry Samoans, Big Eyes, Dear Landlord, Hold Tight!, Signals Midwest and Bowling for Soup are playing in Ephrata and it's free

Bungy, I gotta agree that this is one of the best summers for "my kind of shows" in quite some time. Of your list I highly recommend "Teenage Bottlerocket" very fast paced pumping shows. Seen them twice so far and planning on seeing them in July. "Bowling For Soup" is always worth a look (like you said, it's FREE). They put on a good show.
